Thế nào là đề Writing dạng Advantage and Disadvantage
Dạng bài Advantages & Disadvantages là sẽ nêu ra ý kiến/ tình huống/ vấn đề và yêu cầu người viết phải đưa nhận xét, quan điểm của mình về mặt tích cực (advantages) và tiêu cực (disadvantages) của ý kiến/ tình huống/ vấn đề đó.
Cách loại đề Writing dạng Advantage and Disadvantage
Với dạng bài Advantages – Disadvantages đề bài sẽ đưa ra một vấn đề hoặc ý kiến và yêu cầu bạn phải chỉ ra những nhược điểm cũng như ưu điểm của nó.
Thông thường dạng bài Advantages – Disadvantages được chia làm 3 loại:
Loại 1: Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this trend.
E.g.: The internet has made knowledge immediately available to people through computers and smartphones all around the world. Much of this knowledge is also free. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this trend.
Ở dạng đề đầu tiên này, người viết chỉ đơn giản được yêu cầu chỉ ra mặt tích cực và tiêu cực của một ý kiến/tình huống/vấn đề và không cần phải viết thêm về mặt nào “lấn át” mặt nào, hoặc là đưa ra ý kiến riêng của bạn. Cấu trúc bài viết của loại đề này do đó cũng vô cùng đơn giản: mở bài – ưu điểm/nhược điểm – nhược điểm/ưu điểm – kết bài.
Loại 2: Do the advantages/ disadvantages outweigh the disadvantages/ advantages?
E.g.: Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
Với dạng đề 2, ngoài việc đưa ra mặt tích cực và tiêu cực thì người viết còn cần phải làm rõ mặt nào chiếm ưu thế hơn từ mở bài cho đến khi kết bài. Việc lựa chọn mặt nào “lấn át” sẽ ảnh hưởng đến cấu trúc bài viết của bạn, ví dụ nếu bạn chọn advantages outweigh thì trong bài sẽ phải nêu rõ lý do vì sao lại như thế, cũng như khẳng định rõ điều này trong câu chủ đề.
Loại 3: Describe the advantages and disadvantages. Give your own opinion.
E.g.: A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not managed correctly. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world. Give your own opinion.
Ở dạng bài thứ 3, ngoài việc chỉ ra ưu nhược điểm thì người viết sẽ còn phải dựa vào đó để nêu lên ý kiến cá nhân của mình. Thân bài bài viết của bạn sẽ bao gồm các đoạn văn thể hiện mặt tích cực, tiêu cực và đoạn thể hiện ý kiến.

In the past, most people worked for small businesses, while more people now work for large businesses. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for large businesses?
Due to advances in technology and the job market, many people who worked in small companies nowadays work for large ones. Certainly, there are positive and negative points in both places. This essay will discuss what are the advantages and disadvantages of working for a huge business.
On the one hand, working for a huge company can be a great experience once workers have more opportunities and better conditions of job that lead to a satisfactory salary. These benefits can motivate individuals to choose this kind of site rather than small companies. For instance, working for a large and well-known company sited in big metropolitans, the worker has more chance to choose where city he wants to live. In other words, the person has more opportunity to know other cities, and cultures and this way to improve his networking.
But on the other hand, having a job in a huge company can lead to competition among workers in order to promote an uncontrolled race for being promoted and also a life without work-life balance owing to excess of activities. For example, the worker always needs to find out ways to stand out of the crowd. In addition, this competition among people is unhealthy, damaging their mental health. The more individuals are thinking only about occupation, money, and promotion, the more mental and physical disorders they will have. Damaging mental health is not worth it.
In conclusion, there are a plethora of pros and cons to working for large companies. People need to make decisions balancing both sides. This essay argued about the upsides and downsides of one kind of business.
